To walkers of uneven Tower District
sidewalks in Fresno CA
Beware of the distraction caused
by staring at the sidewalk leading to the
front door
of an entire house
painted in the same shade of green
as a crayon in my childhood Crayola box
of 64
lest you trip on a big crack.
And even though you are right handed
fall on your right knee and the heels of both hands releasing the leashes of both dogs
one of whom runs diagonally across the
intersection
to gently greet the mailman
standing at his truck
